Qualcomm Unveils Snapdragon X2 Elite with Cellular-Based Laptop Management
Qualcomm has introduced its Snapdragon X2 Elite series, featuring a revolutionary capability called Guardian. This technology enables enterprise IT teams to manage laptops via cellular networks, even when devices are powered off. The announcement was made during Qualcomm’s annual Snapdragon Summit in Maui, signaling the company's ambitious expansion beyond its mobile phone stronghold.
Guardian leverages Qualcomm’s modem technology to provide remote IT access and management, targeting enterprises with large device fleets. The feature offers enhanced security and control, addressing risks associated with device loss or unauthorized access. "Enterprise management is evolving, and we want to ensure companies have the tools they need to control and protect their devices seamlessly," Qualcomm stated.
The new chips also boast an Oryon CPU, advanced Adreno GPU, and 80 TOPS AI processing power. Qualcomm aims to build a cohesive AI-powered ecosystem across devices, further solidifying its position in the personal computer market.
